Disaster Services

The American Red Cross focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. Through Red Cross Disaster Services, we provide shelter, clothing, and food, in addition to health and mental health services in order to ensure basic human needs are met. After the initial trauma of a disaster, we then work with the individuals and families involved on an ongoing basis so that they can resume their normal, everyday lives. All American Red Cross disaster relief assistance is provided free of cost thanks to the generosity of those who donate their time and money to help those in their time of need.

Disaster Action Teams

The Blue Mountain Chapter currently has 4 Disaster Action Teams. These teams are staffed entirely by volunteers who are available 24 hours a day/7days a week to respond to local emergencies such as house fires. The Disaster Action Team trains to respond to wide spread disasters like floods, chemical accidents.
